#### 98 Powers of police in emergency or obstruction or danger to traffic 98 Powers of police in emergency or obstruction or danger to traffic > > (1) A police officer may, during a temporary obstruction or danger to traffic, or in an emergency— > > > > > (a) direct a person not to cause or permit a vehicle to park in a pay parking space or pay parking area, or > > > > > (b) direct the responsible person for, or driver of, a vehicle parking in a pay parking space or pay parking area to remove the vehicle from the space or area, or > > > > > (c) if no person appears to be in charge of a vehicle parked in a pay parking space or pay parking area—remove the vehicle from the space or area. > > > (2) A person must not, without reasonable excuse, fail to comply with a direction under this section. > > > > Maximum penalty—20 penalty units. > > > (3) In this section— > > > > pay parking area includes a part of a pay parking area.
