#### 171B Participation by TfNSW in Document Verification Service—the Act, Sch 1, cl 1(1)(b) 171B Participation by TfNSW in Document Verification Service—the Act, Sch 1, cl 1(1)(b) > > (1) TfNSW may enter into an arrangement, by agreement, understanding or otherwise, to facilitate TfNSW’s participation in the DVS. > > > (2) TfNSW is authorised— > > > > > (a) to participate in the DVS, and > > > > > (b) to exercise functions conferred on TfNSW as a participant in the DVS, and > > > > > (c) while participating in the DVS, to collect, use and disclose information to assist TfNSW or another participant in the DVS to verify proof-of-identity documents. > > > (3) An arrangement entered into by TfNSW to facilitate participation in the DVS may provide for the payment of fees by participants in the DVS, including fees for the disclosure of information in accordance with the arrangement. > > > (4) If an individual obtaining a service from TfNSW uses a proof-of-identity document that is verifiable by the DVS to establish the individual’s identity, TfNSW must, if reasonably practicable, use the DVS to verify the document. > > > (5) In this section— > > > > DVS has the same meaning as in the [Identity Verification Services Act 2023](http://www.legislation.gov.au/) of the Commonwealth. > > **s 171B:** Ins 2025 (637), Sch 2.
