#### 276 Service of documents on persons generally 276 Service of documents on persons generally (cf Gen Act, s 239) > > (1) Any document that is authorised or required by or under the road transport legislation to be given to or served on any person (other than a corporation) may be given or served— > > > > > (a) personally, or > > > > > (b) by means of a letter addressed to the person and sent by post to the person’s business or home address, or > > > > > (c) by means of a letter addressed to the person and left at the person’s business or home address with a person who appears to be of or above the age of 16 years and to reside at that address. > > > (2) Any document that is authorised or required by or under the road transport legislation to be given to or served on any person (being a corporation) may be given or served— > > > > > (a) by means of a letter addressed to the corporation and sent by post to the address of any of its registered offices, or > > > > > (b) by means of a letter addressed to the corporation and left at the address of any of the corporation’s registered offices with a person who appears to be of or above the age of 16 years and to be employed at that address. > > > (3) Despite subsections (1) and (2), the statutory rules may— > > > > > (a) provide for additional means of giving or serving documents, or > > > > > (b) provide for a document of a class specified by the statutory rules to be given or served only in the manner prescribed by the statutory rules, or > > > > > (c) provide for the date on which service of a document is taken to have been effected. > > > (4) (Repealed) > > **s 276:** Am 2020 No 33, Sch 1\[37\].
