62 Number plates are property of the State (1) A number plate issued by the Secretary remains the property of the State. (2) Subregulation (1) does not apply if— (a) the number plate is a national heavy vehicle number plate; and (b) the number plate is issued in another jurisdiction; and (c) the vehicle is registered in that jurisdiction. (3) A national heavy vehicle number plate issued in another jurisdiction becomes the property of the State when the vehicle is registered in Victoria.
