297 Definitions and application of this Part (1) In this Part— ***hazardous area authority*** means an authority issued under regulation 300; ***relevant vehicle*** means a vehicle that— (a) seats more than 12 people (including the driver) and— (i) is operated by a person who is accredited under the **Bus Safety Act 2009**; and (ii) is being used for carrying passengers— (A) for hire or reward; or (B) as part of a courtesy service; or (C) for or in connection with the activities of a religious, philanthropic, educational, sporting or social body; or (b) seats more than 30 people (including the driver). (2) This Part does not apply to a vehicle that moves on caterpillar tracks and is designed for use on or over snow.
