122 Search and extract fees (1) The fee payable for a search of, or extract from, the Secretary's records relating to registration of a vehicle or information relating to a vehicle on the register of written-off vehicles is the relevant fee specified in Schedule 5. (2) If, in respect of a particular vehicle, a search of, extract from, or certificate in respect of information on, both the register of vehicles and the register of written-off vehicles is made or issued, the relevant fee in Schedule 5 is payable in respect of each of those registers. (3) The Secretary may enter into an agreement with— (a) a public authority, the Chief Commissioner of Police, a municipal council, an insurer, a self-insurer, a motor vehicle wrecker, a motor car trader, a tolling operator or an auction house for the Secretary to provide extracts for fees that— (i) are less than the fees prescribed in subregulation (1); and (ii) do not exceed the costs incurred by the Secretary for providing the extracts; or (b) a person for the purposes of historical research or the supply of statistical information on reasonable terms acceptable to the Secretary and not exceeding the costs incurred by the Secretary for providing that service.
