### 15 Identification of offenders
> > (1) [*\[Section 15 Subsection (1) amended by No. 38 of 2017, s. 30, Applied:03 Dec 2018\]*](/view/html/inforce/2018-12-03/act-2017-038#GS30@Hpa@EN) A police officer may require a person to whom a request has been made, or a direction has been given, under [Division 2](#HPII@HD2@EN) or whom that officer has reasonable grounds for believing has committed an offence under this Act to state his name, date of birth and the address of his place of abode.

> > > > (a) refuses or fails to comply with a requirement made by a police officer under this section; or

> > > > (b) in response to any such requirement, furnishes that officer with information that is false –
