85E Effect of charging a person who has licence or permit suspended under section 85B If a person whose driver licence or learner permit is suspended under section 85B is charged with the alleged offence during the period of suspension (as extended, if applicable, by section 85D(1)), from the time the charge-sheet is filed the suspension is taken to be instead a suspension under section 85. The period of suspension therefore continues until the charge is determined by a court (see section 85C(1)).
