668 Production of polyethylene
(1) The production of polyethylene is the chemical transformation of ethene (ethylene (C2H4)) to produce polyethylene with a standard density equal to or greater than 0.910 g/cm3. (2) The production of polyethylene is specified as an emissions‑intensive trade‑exposed activity. (3) For this Part:
standard density, for polyethylene, means the density of polyethylene moulded to a thickness of 1.9 mm using Procedure C of Annex A1 to ASTM D4703, as in force from time to time.
