#### 620 Smelting zinc (1) Smelting zinc is the chemical transformation of either or both of: (a) concentrated mineralised zinc compounds; and (b) zinc‑bearing secondary materials; to produce zinc metal (Zn) with a concentration of zinc equal to or greater than 99.95%. (2) Smelting zinc is specified as an emissions‑intensive trade‑exposed activity.
