### 73 Savings and transitional
> > (1) An order –
> >
> > > > (a) continued under the [De Facto Relationship Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1999-093) and in force immediately before the commencement of this Act; or
> > >
> > > > (b) made under the [De Facto Relationship Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1999-093) and in force immediately before the commencement of this Act –
> >
> > continues with any necessary modifications or adaptations as if it were an order made under this Act and is to be taken for all purposes as if it had been made under this Act.

> > (2) An application under the [De Facto Relationship Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1999-093) is taken to be an application under this Act with any necessary modifications or adaptations, and anything done in respect of that application under the [De Facto Relationship Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1999-093) is taken to have been done under this Act.

> > (3) Any right or entitlement that a de facto partner, within the meaning of the [De Facto Relationship Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1999-093) , had or was entitled to under that Act is taken to be a right or entitlement which that person has or is entitled to under this Act.
