### 28 Falsification of certificate > > (1)  A person must not forge the Registrar's signature. > > > > Penalty:  Fine not exceeding 100 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months, or both. > > > (2)  A person must not forge or falsify a certificate or other document under this Act. > > > > Penalty:  Fine not exceeding 100 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months, or both. > > > (3)  The Registrar may impound – > > > > > > (a) a document which the Registrar has reason to believe bears a forged impression of the Registrar's signature; or > > > > > > > (b) a certificate or other document purporting to be a certificate or other document under this Act which the Registrar has reason to believe has been forged or falsified; or > > > > > > > (c) a certificate issued under [section 23(1)](#GS23@Gs1@EN) if the entry in the Register about the event has been revoked or corrected since the issue of the certificate.
