Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document is a formal notice (called a Proclamation) made by the Governor-General that switches on sections of an existing law. Specifically, it sets 1 October 2014 as the date when Parts 2 to 7 of the Regulatory Powers (Standard Provisions) Act 2014 come into effect.

What this means:

Before this date, Parts 2 to 7 of the Act were not active law.
From 1 October 2014 onwards, those parts became operational.
This document does not create new rules itself—it simply activates rules that were already written and passed by Parliament.
