7Purpose and operation of this Part

#### 7 Purpose and operation of this Part (1) The principal purpose of this Part is to create a framework for monitoring: (a) whether provisions of an Act or a legislative instrument have been, or are being, complied with; and (b) whether information given in compliance, or purported compliance, with a provision of an Act or a legislative instrument is correct; and (c) other matters to which an Act or a legislative instrument relates. (2) However, for this Part to operate, one or more of the following must apply: (a) a provision of an Act or a legislative instrument must be made subject to monitoring under this Part; (b) information given in compliance, or purported compliance, with a provision of an Act or a legislative instrument must be made subject to monitoring under this Part; (c) a matter to which an Act or a legislative instrument relates must be made subject to monitoring under this Part.
