#### 163 Methods for taking, testing and analysing certain samples (1) This section applies in relation to a sample of waste material or any other thing that is to be taken, tested or analysed under this Act (other than in the performance of functions or duties or the exercise of powers under Part 2 of Chapter 4 (compliance and enforcement) or the Regulatory Powers Act). (2) The sample must be taken, tested or analysed in accordance with: (a) if a method is prescribed by the rules for that kind of sample—the prescribed method; or (b) in any other case: (i) an applicable method specified in an Australian Standard published by, or on behalf of, Standards Australia; or (ii) any other appropriate, validated and science‑based method approved by the Secretary.
