#### 96C Matters arising 96C Matters arising > > (1) This section applies if a solicitor or licensed conveyancer relies on the correctness of information obtained from a request under section 96A (section 96A information) when acting for a person (the client) in connection with a purchase, disposal or other dealing with land. > > > (2) The client has no cause of action against the solicitor or licensed conveyancer for loss or damage suffered as a result of an error in, or omission from, the section 96A information. > > > (3) A person engaged in providing titling and registry functions must not— > > > > > (a) commit, or be party to, a fraudulent act in relation to a request under section 96A, or > > > > > (b) be wilfully negligent in relation to a request under section 96A. > > > > Maximum penalty for subsection (3)—10 penalty units. > > **s 96C:** Ins 1979 No 164, Sch 16.
