(1) The maximum radiated mean power density of a radiocommunications transmitter must not exceed 50 mW EIRP per 1 MHz. (2) A radiocommunications transmitter must use: (a) Dynamic Frequency Selection; and (b) if the transmitter is operated with a maximum EIRP greater than 500 mW – Transmit Power Control.
Note: IEEE 802.11 Telecommunications and Information Exchange between Systems – Local and Metropolitan Area Networks – Specific Requirements – Part 11: Wireless LANB Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications provides for Dynamic Frequency Selection and Transmit Power Control. IEEE 802.11 is published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and is available for purchase from the Institute’s website at www.ieee.org.
