Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document cancels (repeals) outdated rules about radio communications in the Australia-Indonesia Zone of Cooperation—an area in the Timor Sea where Australia and Indonesia once jointly managed oil and gas resources.

What it does

Removes the Radiocommunications (Australia-Indonesia Zone of Cooperation Treaty) Regulations made in 1991 (Statutory Rules 1991 No. 119).
Took effect on 1 July 1993.

Who it affects

Oil and gas companies, ships, and aircraft that previously had to follow specific radio licensing or technical rules when operating in that zone.

Why it matters

It clears away redundant regulations. The underlying treaty (the Timor Gap Treaty) was later replaced by new agreements, making these specific radio rules obsolete. Removing them reduces compliance burdens for operators.
