These endnotes explain the compilation and annotation material attached to the Radiocommunications Advisory Guidelines — covering what endnotes appear, an abbreviation key, and records of legislation and amendment history. They also set out how a misdescribed amendment is treated and note that, where possible, editorial changes under section 15V of the Legislation Act 2003 may be used to incorporate such amendments.

This matters for anyone using or compiling the instrument because it tells readers where to find commencement and amendment details and how misdescribed amendments may be legally incorporated, affecting how the instrument is read and relied on.

Misdescribed amendments

A misdescribed amendment is an amendment that does not accurately describe how an amendment is to be made. If, despite the misdescription, the amendment can be given effect as intended, then the misdescribed amendment can be incorporated through an editorial change made under section 15V of the Legislation Act 2003.

If a misdescribed amendment cannot be given effect as intended, the amendment is not incorporated and “(md not incorp)” is added to the amendment history.
