14 Storage of radioactive material
(1) In this regulation –
predisposal safety guide means the Safety Guide for the Predisposal Management of Radioactive Waste (2008), Radiation Protection Series No. 16, published by the CEO of ARPANSA, as amended or substituted from time to time;
relevant radioactive material means radioactive material of a type to which the Disposal Code applies.
(2) A person must not store relevant radioactive material that is awaiting disposal, other than in accordance with the relevant requirements of the predisposal safety guide.
Penalty: Fine not exceeding 300 penalty units and, in the case of a continuing offence, a further fine not exceeding 5 penalty units for each day during which the offence continues.
