sec.24 Acting deputy commissioner
This section applies if there is a vacancy in the office of a deputy commissioner or a deputy commissioner is absent or for any other reason is unable to perform the functions of the office. The Minister may appoint a person to act as a deputy commissioner for a period of not more than 3 months. However, the Minister may extend the appointment for a further 3 months. A person appointed to act as a deputy commissioner— has all the functions and powers of a deputy commissioner; and is taken to be a deputy commissioner for all purposes relating to this Act. (sec.24-ssec.1) This section applies if there is a vacancy in the office of a deputy commissioner or a deputy commissioner is absent or for any other reason is unable to perform the functions of the office. (sec.24-ssec.2) The Minister may appoint a person to act as a deputy commissioner for a period of not more than 3 months. (sec.24-ssec.3) However, the Minister may extend the appointment for a further 3 months. (sec.24-ssec.4) A person appointed to act as a deputy commissioner— has all the functions and powers of a deputy commissioner; and is taken to be a deputy commissioner for all purposes relating to this Act.

- (b) is taken to be a deputy commissioner for all purposes relating to this Act.
