229 Monetary penalties (1) A monetary penalty may not be imposed under section 228(2)(g) for a contravention referred to in section 227(1)(c)(ii). (2) The amount of a monetary penalty imposed under section 228(2)(g) must not exceed 1 000 penalty units.

Racing and Wagering Act 2024 107 (3) A licensee or race club must pay any monetary penalty imposed on the licensee or race club within 28 days, or any longer period allowed by the Commission, after notice of the penalty is given to the licensee or race club. (4) To avoid doubt, the monetary penalty is a civil penalty for the purposes of the Penalty Units Act 2009. (5) A monetary penalty imposed as disciplinary action may be recovered as a debt due and payable to the Territory.
