Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This short regulation sets the expense allowances for the Race Discrimination Commissioner. What it does: It states that the Commissioner can claim the same allowances (such as travel and accommodation expenses) as a standard Australian Public Service officer.

Why this matters: Instead of listing specific dollar amounts, the regulation "piggybacks" on the public service rates. This means the Commissioner's allowances automatically update whenever public service conditions change, without needing new legislation.
