17 Appointment (1) The public trustee and guardian may be appointed as an original, new or additional trustee in the same cases, in the same manner and by the same persons or court as if the public trustee and guardian were an individual. (2) However, the public trustee and guardian must not be appointed as a trustee if the instrument creating the trust contains a direction to the contrary.
