5 Meaning of “animal”

(1) In this Act, an animal includes—

(a) aquatic animals, and

(b) terrestrial animals.

(2) An animal does not include—

(a) companion animals within the meaning of the Companion Animals Act 1998, other than dogs in national parks, and

Note—

The operation of this paragraph means this Act does not apply to—

(a) dogs, unless a dog is in a national park, or

(b) cats.

(b) other animals prescribed by the regulations as being animals to which this Act does not apply.
