116 Interpretation
> appellable promotion has the same meaning as in Division 4.
> direction means a direction under subregulation 116A (2).
> notified, in relation to a direction, means notified in accordance with subregulation 116B (2).
> office means an office other than:
(a) an office of Secretary; or
(b) a Senior Executive Service office.
> specified, in relation to a direction means specified in that direction.
(2) In these regulations, a reference to the efficiency of an officer includes, in the case of an officer who is a returned soldier or who is or has been absent on specified defence service, such efficiency as, in the opinion of the Secretary or the Promotion Appeal Committee, as the case requires, the officer would have had but for the absence of the officer on active service or on specified defence service.
