Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document is a formal 'start date' announcement (called a proclamation) made by the Governor‑General.

It declares that four specific sections (called Schedules 1, 2, 3 and 4) of the Public Service Amendment Act 2013 will begin operating on 1 July 2013.

What this means:

The document itself doesn't contain new rules—it simply acts as the 'on switch' for amendments already written in the parent Act.
From 1 July 2013 onwards, the changes to the Australian Public Service contained in those four schedules became legally active.
It affects Commonwealth public servants and agencies by determining exactly when the new workplace framework takes effect.
