act

Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Act creates a statutory Public Seal for the Northern Territory to be kept and used by the Administrator for sealing official instruments, and repeals the earlier 1932 Ordinance. It validates documents already sealed under the old law and allows the Administrator to apply the Public Seal to documents that were issued without it and treat them as properly sealed. The Act therefore governs which seals give legal effect to Territory documents and who controls that process.
