56 Functions and powers of Integrity Oversight Victoria

(1) The functions of Integrity Oversight Victoria under this Act are—

S. 56(1)(a) amended by Nos 2/2019 s. 35(a), 50/2021 s. 140, 31/2023 s. 54.

(a) to receive assessable disclosures that relate to the IBAC, IBAC Officers or Public Interest Monitors; and

S. 56(1)(c) amended by No. 2/2019 s. 35(b).

(c) to determine whether those disclosures are public interest complaints; and

(d) to receive other assessable disclosures and to notify those disclosures to the IBAC; and

Integrity Oversight Victoria may receive disclosures that relate to certain entities other than the IBAC, IBAC Officers or Public Interest Monitors. See sections 13 and 14(f).

(e) to review the procedures established by the IBAC, the Judicial Commission and the Ombudsman under Part 9 and the implementation of those procedures; and

S. 56(1)(ea) inserted by No. 2/2019 s. 35(e).

(ea) to promote the purposes of this Act; and

(f) to perform any other function conferred on Integrity Oversight Victoria by or under this Act.

(2) Integrity Oversight Victoria has power to do all things that are necessary or convenient to be done for, or in connection with, the performance of its functions under this Act.
