### 54 Obstruction > A person must not – > > > > (a) without lawful excuse, wilfully obstruct, hinder or resist the Ombudsman in the exercise of the Ombudsman's powers under this Part; or > > > > > (b) without lawful excuse, refuse to or wilfully fail to comply with any lawful requirement of the Ombudsman under this Part; or > > > > > (c) make a statement the person knows to be false or misleading in a material respect to the Ombudsman in the course of an investigation under this Part; or > > > > > (d) knowingly mislead or attempt to mislead the Ombudsman in the course of an investigation under this Part. > > Penalty:  Fine not exceeding 240 penalty units or imprisonment for a term of 2 years, or both.
