#### 62 Additional functions of the Ombudsman The functions of the Ombudsman include: (a) assisting: (i) principal officers of agencies (other than intelligence agencies or the IGIS); and (ii) authorised officers of agencies (other than intelligence agencies or the IGIS); and (iii) public officials who belong to agencies (other than intelligence agencies or the IGIS); and (iv) former public officials who belonged to agencies (other than intelligence agencies or the IGIS); in relation to the operation of this Act; and (b) conducting educational and awareness programs relating to this Act, to the extent to which this Act relates to: (i) agencies (other than intelligence agencies or the IGIS); and (ii) public officials who belong to agencies (other than intelligence agencies or the IGIS); and (iii) former public officials who belonged to agencies (other than intelligence agencies or the IGIS); and (c) assisting the IGIS in relation to the performance of the functions conferred on the IGIS by this Act. > Note: Section 5A of the Ombudsman Act 1976 extends the Ombudsman’s functions to cover disclosures of information that have been, or are required to be, allocated under section 43 of this Act (whether or not they are allocated to the Ombudsman), if the disclosable conduct with which the information is concerned relates to an agency other than an intelligence agency or the IGIS.
