60C Power to compel production of documents and other things or attendance of witness (1) For the purposes of an inquiry, the Commission may serve written notice on a person requiring the person to— (a) produce a specified document or other thing to the Commission or a person authorised by the Commission before a specified time and in the specified manner; or (b) attend the Commission at a specified time and place to produce a specified document or other thing; or (c) attend the Commission at a specified time and place, and from then on from day to day until excused, to give evidence; or (d) attend the Commission at a specified time and place, and from then on from day to day until excused, to give evidence and to produce a specified document or other thing. (2) A notice under subsection (1) must contain the following information— (a) a statement that failure to comply with the notice without reasonable excuse is an offence, and stating the maximum penalty for that offence; (b) examples of what may constitute a reasonable excuse for failing to comply with the notice.
