56Inquiries

56 Inquiries (1) The Premier may direct the Commission to conduct an inquiry into any matter relating to a public sector body other than— S. 56(1)(aa) inserted by No. 27/2024 s. 147. (aa) the Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission; or S. 56(1)(aab) inserted by No. 27/2024 s. 147. (aab) the office of the Parliamentary Integrity Adviser; or (a) the IBAC; or (b) the office of the Ombudsman; or (c) the Victorian Auditor-General's Office; or (d) the Victorian Electoral Commission; or S. 56(1)(e) amended by No. 31/2024 s. 113(Sch. 1 item 27.4). (e) Integrity Oversight Victoria within the meaning of the **Integrity Oversight Victoria Act 2011**. (2) An inquiry may be conducted in relation to a body even if a provision of an Act other than this Act has the effect that the body or a member of the body or of the governing body (by whatever name called) of the body is not subject to this Act or to any part of this Act. (3) If an inquiry is conducted in relation to a body referred to in subsection (2), that body must comply with section 42 of this Act in relation to the inquiry even if a provision of an Act other than this Act has the effect that the body is not subject to this Act or to any part of this Act.
