Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations prescribe how payment notices for levies under the Protection of the Sea (Shipping Levy Collection) Act 1981 must be delivered to a ship’s master—either by personal hand or by mail to the ship’s address. They affect ship masters and government collectors by defining legally recognised service methods that secure procedural fairness and enable enforcement once notice is validly given.
