2 Interpretation
(1) In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears, the Act means the Protection of the Sea (Civil Liability) Act 1981. (2) In these Regulations, except in so far as the contrary intention appears, an expression used in a regulation made for the purposes of a provision in either Part II or Part III of the Act, and used in the Convention (whether or not a particular meaning is assigned to it by the Convention) has, in that regulation, the same meaning as in the Convention.
