#### 128 Limits on exercise of functions by enforcement officers—the Act, s 226 128 Limits on exercise of functions by enforcement officers—the Act, s 226 > > (1) An enforcement officer appointed by a local council may exercise the functions of an enforcement officer only in the area of the council. > > > (2) Nothing prevents a person being appointed as an enforcement officer by more than 1 local council. > > > (3) An enforcement officer must not exercise the functions of an enforcement officer for a penalty notice offence alleged to have been committed by— > > > > > (a) the organisation that appointed the person as an enforcement officer, or > > > > > (b) a member of staff of the organisation.
