46 Duty to inform occupationally exposed persons—the Act, s 40(2) and (3)(f), (i2) and (j)

A person responsible for regulated material in a workplace must ensure each occupationally exposed person in the workplace is made aware of, and kept informed of changes in, the following in relation to the regulated material—

(a) hazards that can arise in connection with the use of the regulated material,

(b) safety arrangements in place to protect the occupationally exposed person from the hazards,

(c) steps the occupationally exposed person must take to minimise the likelihood that a hazard will arise,

(d) the name of the radiation safety officer or other person to whom the occupationally exposed person should refer for matters relating to the use of the regulated material.

Maximum penalty—

(a) for an individual—125 penalty units, or

(b) otherwise—250 penalty units.
