#### 31 Licence exemptions—obligation of person responsible 31 Licence exemptions—obligation of person responsible > A person responsible for regulated material must not permit an individual who does not hold a radiation user licence for the use of the regulated material to use the regulated material unless— > > > (a) the individual is exempt from the requirement to hold a radiation user licence for the use of the material under Division 3, and > > > (b) if the relevant exemption requires the individual to be supervised when using the material—the person responsible takes all reasonable steps to ensure the individual is subject to the required kind of supervision when using the material. > > Maximum penalty— > > > (a) for an individual—250 penalty units, or > > > (b) otherwise—500 penalty units.
