23 Exemption for certain dental practitioners

23 Exemption for certain dental practitioners

(1) This section applies to a person employed as—

(a) a dentist, or

(b) a dental therapist, or

(c) a dental hygienist, or

(d) an oral health therapist.

(2) The person is exempt from the requirement to hold a radiation user licence under the Act, section 7 for the use of apparatus to which this subdivision applies if the use of the apparatus occurs in the course of the person’s employment as a dentist, dental therapist, dental hygienist or oral health therapist.

This section commences on 1 December 2025.
