14 Exemption for certain medical registrars

14 Exemption for certain medical registrars

(1) This section applies to a person who—

(a) is a medical registrar at a hospital, and

(b) is training in one of the following specialties—

(i) dermatology,

(ii) radiology,

(iii) nuclear medicine,

(iv) ophthalmology,

(v) radiation oncology,

(vi) rheumatology.

(2) The person is exempt from the requirement to hold a radiation user licence under the Act, section 7 for the use of regulated material during the person’s training if the person, when using the material, is subject to the following supervision—

(a) during the first 6 months of the person’s speciality training—immediate supervision,

(b) otherwise—general supervision.
