Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This proclamation, made by the Governor with the advice of the Executive Council under section 2 of the Veterinary Surgeons Amendment Act 2011, sets 12 December 2012 as the day the Amendment Act's provisions commence. It does not change the law's content; it only fixes when the amended rules start to apply.

The change affects registered veterinary surgeons and the administering department: from the commencement date they must follow and enforce the amended requirements, imposing any compliance costs on regulated parties while the Executive Council exercised the formal discretion to set the date.
