What this does: The Governor of Tasmania, acting with the Executive Council, fixes 1 June 1999 as the commencement date for the Search Warrants Act 1997 (made under s2 of that Act). It brings the Act into force on that date.

This proclamation does not create offences or regulatory duties itself; it records commencement, notes publication in the Gazette, and assigns administration to the Department of Justice and Industrial Relations. Decision-maker: Governor with Executive Council (s2); practical effects are administrative and procedural.
