Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This proclamation sets the start date for the Residential Tenancy Amendment (Pets) Act 2025: the Act's provisions will commence on 20 March 2026 (under s.2). It therefore does one mechanical thing — fix when the law takes effect — rather than change any of the Act's substance.

Decision-maker: the Governor acting with the Executive Council (s.2). The proclamation was notified in the Gazette on 11 March 2026 and is administered by the Department of Justice.
