Proclamation under the Interstate Transfer (Community-based Sentences) Act 2009 (Tasmania)

This proclamation fixes 1 September 2009 as the day the Interstate Transfer (Community-based Sentences) Act 2009 comes into force in Tasmania. It was made by the Governor under section 2 of that Act, signed 10 August 2009 and notified in the Gazette on 19 August 2009.

Mechanically, the instrument simply brings the Act into operation for people and agencies in Tasmania to whom that Act applies; it does not itself amend the Act, allocate funding, or specify operational rules. The Governor acted with the advice of the Executive Council and the proclamation is administered by the Department of Justice.
