Plain English Summary

This proclamation sets 11 December 2013 as the day the Forest Management Act 2013 takes effect in Tasmania. That start date brings into force the Act’s legal rules, so people and organisations subject to the Act (for example, land managers, forestry operators and relevant government agencies) must comply with its requirements. The Governor, acting with Executive Council advice, made the proclamation under the Act (section 2), and the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources is named as the administrator—triggering the Act’s obligations and administrative duties.
