This proclamation, made by the Governor with the Executive Council's advice under section 2 of the Emergency Management Act 2006, fixes 20 October 2006 as the day that Act commences in Tasmania and its Dependencies. It does not itself create new rights, obligations or charges; it brings the Act’s powers, duties and obligations into force on that date. The Governor (on Executive Council advice) decides the commencement; the Department of Police and Emergency Management administers the proclamation.
