Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This proclamation sets 29 May 2005 as the day the Electricity - National Scheme (Tasmania) Act 1999 comes into force and revokes a prior 2001 proclamation. Mechanically, it makes the Act’s legal powers and obligations operative from that date and identifies the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources as administering the proclamation. Made by the Governor with Executive Council advice, it chiefly affects persons and businesses subject to that Act in Tasmania by changing when the Act’s rules take effect.
