6 Meaning of medical device
(1) For the purposes of paragraph 72‑11(1)(b) of the Act, any instrument, apparatus, appliance, software, implant, reagent, material or other article that: (a) was, immediately before 1 July 2023, listed in Part D of the former prostheses list; and (b) is not covered by paragraph 72‑11(1)(a) or (c) of the Act; is specified. (2) For the purposes of subsection (1) of this section, former prostheses list means the Schedule to the Private Health Insurance (Prostheses) Rules (No. 1) 2023 (as in force before that instrument was repealed).
