#### 58 Suppression of personal information 58 Suppression of personal information > > (1) A person about whom personal information is contained (or proposed to be contained) in a public register may request the public sector agency responsible for keeping the register to have the information— > > > > > (a) removed from, or not placed on, the register as publicly available, and > > > > > (b) not disclosed to the public. > > > (2) If the public sector agency is satisfied that the safety or well-being of any person would be affected by not suppressing the personal information as requested, the agency must suppress the information in accordance with the request unless the agency is of the opinion that the public interest in maintaining public access to the information outweighs any individual interest in suppressing the information. > > > (3) Any information that is removed from, or not placed on, a public register under this section may be kept on the register for other purposes.
