Tasmania regulation
This order amends the Prisoners (Interstate Transfer) Order 1984 and takes effect when its making is notified in the Gazette (cl.2–3). The amendment has been incorporated into the authorised version of the 1984 Order and the instrument is administered by the Department of Justice (cl.3–4).
Mechanically, it updates the federal rules governing transfers of prisoners between states; it primarily affects prisoners eligible for interstate transfer and the officials who administer those transfers, while imposing little new compliance burden.
